Roblox Community Forums vs. DevForum: Which Should You Use?
Roblox Community Forums and DevForum serve different purposes. Community Forums host discussions within individual Roblox Communities, while DevForum focuses on Roblox development.

In December 2017, Roblox made its platform-wide public forum read-only and announced that it would close completely on December 11. Roblox stated that the change did not affect DevForum.

Community Forums
Community Forums provide discussion spaces within individual Roblox Communities. Members can use them to discuss gameplay, share feedback, and report issues.
Community owners can enable forums, create categories, configure role and category permissions, and use moderation features such as post locking, blocked-word filtering, community bans, and slow mode.
Forum access is limited to logged-in community members aged 13 or older. Since March 18, 2026, posting, commenting, or replying also requires an age check confirming that the member is at least 13. Members aged 13 or older who have not completed an age check can still read and react.

DevForum
Roblox's Creator Hub directs creators to DevForum for community advice, bug reports, and information about Roblox updates.
Public DevForum posts remain readable without logging in. Since March 18, 2026, logging in requires an age check confirming that the user is at least 13. Posting, commenting, and replying have the same age-check requirement.
Direct messaging generally requires an age check confirming that the user is at least 18, as does participation in the Collaboration section. Roblox permits under-18 users to communicate with staff on forum threads and through private bug-report messages.
