Quick Summary
  • Cameraman Tower Defense is the wave-based Skibidi Toilet tower defense from Aligators Games, holding around 40,000 concurrent players in late October 2026 on the live Roblox chart.
  • The Roblox difficulty badges name Easy, Medium, Hard, Insane and Nightmare. Older guides, including several of the popular ones, still call the second tier Normal, and their coin tables contradict each other.
  • The free code lane is narrow: three codes added on October 21 (UTCM, Battlepass, LStriderSpeaker) are agreed by every site checked, but you must win three matches before the code box will accept anything.
  • The Halloween update landed by October 20 with eight new units, a Candy-funded crate and a new top difficulty, so the tier rankings moved hard.
  • The game runs on two separate currencies. In-match cash buys and upgrades towers, lobby Coins buy summons. Mixing them up is the most common new player mistake.
What the game actually is

Aligators Games, the group run by developers aibat303e and iop_dev, published this one on August 26, 2026. There is no matchmaking screen. You walk onto a match platform in the lobby, the difficulty card gets voted on, and the map loads. The official description says it plainly: "Step on a platform to start a match! Place cameraman and powerful units to fight back against invading toilets! Beat waves to win." Servers hold 30 players, and the game is filed under Strategy and Tower Defense.

The player numbers are the part worth knowing before you sink an evening in. When I checked on October 24 the experience was holding 40,201 concurrent players on the official games API, with 39,529,719 visits and 158,836 favorites. That puts it around rank 31 across the whole platform, a few hundred concurrent players above Forsaken and Flee the Facility. The 24 hour change was plus 60 percent, which is a live-event bump rather than steady drift.

The difficulty ladder, and the naming mess worth clearing up first

The Roblox badges API is the only place this gets settled. Six badges created on October 20, 2026 name the ladder directly: "Beat Easy Difficulty!", "Beat Medium Difficulty!", "Beat Hard Difficulty!", "Beat Insane Difficulty!" and "Beat Nightmare Difficulty!". So the current set is Easy, Medium, Hard, Insane, Nightmare.

Here is where most guides go wrong. The widely copied wiki reward table calls the second tier Normal and gives it 30 waves and 200 Coins. The wiki's own beginner guide calls that same tier Hard and gives it 30 waves and roughly 600 Coins. Both cannot be right, and neither badge set contains a Normal.

Insane mode, the numbers that repeat across sources

This is where the sources agree tightly enough to build a plan on. Insane is 50 waves, capped at 15 placed units per player, and pays 600 lobby Coins for a clear. The creator walkthrough description adds 1,200 Coins during a double coins event, and describes one solo clear running Titan Cameraman plus Ninja Cameraman, both reported as Basic Crate units, on Toilet City.

The boss gauntlet is where Insane is actually won or lost:
  • Wave 47, Boss Toilet 2.5, roughly 306,000 HP.
  • Wave 48, Dual Toilet 3.0, around 150,000 HP, fast, with high-health escorts.
  • Wave 49, Infected Titan Speakerman, roughly 370,000 HP.
  • Wave 50, Boss Toilet 3, over 1,000,000 base HP, and 4,320,000 HP with the 2x HP mob modifier running.
Turn Auto Skip off at wave 47. Leaving it on lets the late bosses spawn on top of each other and stack those health pools, which is how runs die. When the final boss walks out of your front towers' range, sell them and rebuild further down the track near the base exit.

Working through the 50 waves
  1. Waves 1 to 5, hold the first loop. Drop one cheap opener at the first bend and let low-health toilets come to it. Ninja Cameraman is the documented budget pick here at 200 cash.
  2. Waves 6 to 20, build income. Place Scientist Cameramen behind your front line and push them to max so the 500 cash per wave payout is live before wave 20.
  3. Waves 21 to 46, swap in carries. Sell redundant starters around waves 31 to 35 to free board space, and upgrade one heavy hitter to max before you buy a second one. Top tiers jump far more than low tiers.
  4. Waves 47 to 50, boss shutdown. Fill the 15 unit cap, keep Auto Skip off, and hold cash in reserve for a late-lane burst if something breaches.
The budget route is real. Multiple community runs clear Insane with nothing but banner pulls: Ninja Cameraman early, Large TV Man for wave clear, maxed Titan Cameramen for boss damage, Scientist Cameramen paying for all of it. You do not need a Mythic to finish.

Units worth knowing
  • Scientist Cameraman is the economy unit, capped at 4 placements and worth up to 500 cash per wave at max level. Popcorn Cameraman is the banner alternative at 200 cash per wave, capped at 3.
  • Jetpack Cameraman is the cheap early defender with a 3 second cooldown at level 1 that drops to 1 second when upgraded, 15 range, 250 base damage, and a hard cap of 3 placements.
  • TV Spider is the gem crate chase unit at a 0.2 percent pull from the Spider Crate. 400 cash to place, 125 DPS at level 1, 10,000 DPS maxed, 180 degree cone, capped at 6 placements for a possible 60,000 combined DPS. It costs 16,000 cash to max.
  • TV Woman is the Woman Crate mythic at 4,000 max DPS with a burning damage over time effect. Upgraded Titan Speakerman is the Mythic slot of the coin banner, 5,000 max DPS splash, and it is the pick against toilets wearing sunglasses because it fires physical cannon shots rather than a screen attack.
  • Upgraded Brute Prototype is the AoE coin banner carry at 9,000 max DPS, and Upgraded Videotaper Prototype is the single-target option at 7,500 max DPS.
Where the codes stand right now

Three codes went live on October 21, 2026, and every site I checked agrees on them: UTCM, Battlepass and LStriderSpeaker, all worth 50 Coins each. One aggregator adds Halloween, but only one of five sites lists it, so treat that as unconfirmed.

The older set is genuinely contested. Pro Game Guides still lists Engineer, UpgradedTitanSpeakerman and NewMaps as active at 50 Coins each. Pocket Tactics, PCGamesN, Rock Paper Shotgun and Eurogamer all list those same three as expired, along with UPDATE1 and RELEASE. The wiki calls all five disputed.

Redeem them in the lobby: Shop on the left of the screen, scroll to the bottom of the window, paste the code exactly as published, hit Redeem. Codes are case sensitive, one code per account, and the field stays locked until you have three wins. Joining the Aligators Games group and liking the game is worth a one-time 200 Coins on top.

The Halloween update moved the rankings

The Halloween update was live by October 20, 2026. Eight units arrived in one drop: Upgraded Titan Cameraman, Chaos Cameraman, Executioner TV Man, Headless TV Man, Dragon Cameraman, Pumpkin Farmer, Werewolf Speakerman and Clown Speakerman. The Halloween Crate runs on Candy at 500 per roll, and a battle pass with a paid Premium Pass came with it.

The post-update community tier list from Vaulted Values X, published October 19, reshuffled the top of the game. S tier now reads Upgraded Titan Cameraman, Chaos Cameraman, Executioner TV Man, Upgraded Brute Prototype, TV Spider and Headless TV Man. Titan Cameraman dropped from S to B, and Titan Cinemaman, Jetpack Cameraman and Engineer Cameraman all dropped from S to A.

One caveat, and it matters. Those eight units, the Candy crate and the new difficulty are creator reports. The developer has not published a changelog, and Roblox timestamps carry no version number. The official badges are the only hard anchor in that update. A guide that lists an "Update 4" build number is inventing it.

FAQ

Q: Is Cameraman Tower Defense the same game as Toilet Tower Defense?
A: No. They are separate Roblox experiences by different creators. The fan wiki for this one says so outright, and the welcome badge on this experience reads "Welcome to nostalgilic Reworked TTD", which tells you the lineage without making them the same game.

Q: How many players does a Cameraman Tower Defense server hold?
A: 30. The official games API lists maxPlayers as 30. Insane lobbies usually run 2 to 4 people rather than a full server, because crowded platforms make placement worse, not better.

Q: How many coins do I get for beating Insane mode?
A: 600 lobby Coins on the clear card, or 1,200 during a double coins event. The creator walkthrough description is where the 1,200 figure comes from, and it is a recorded run, not a promise.

Q: What level do I need to be to use codes?
A: There is no level requirement in this game, which surprises people coming from anime tower defense titles. The gate is match wins. You need three wins before the Shop code field unlocks.

Q: Can I beat Insane mode without spending Robux?
A: Yes. Recorded solo clears run entirely on Basic Crate banner units: Ninja Cameraman early, Large TV Man for wave clear, stacked maxed Titan Cameramen for the bosses, funded by Scientist Cameramen. The expensive mythics just make it faster.

Q: How many TV Spiders can I place at once?
A: Six. That is a per-player cap, and it is the whole reason the unit is worth chasing. Six maxed copies put out 60,000 AoE DPS on their own.
