Phantom Forces Complete Guide (October 2026): Teams, the Fall Remodels Update, Ranks, and Every Game Mode
Posted: Sun Oct 25, 2026 1:17 am
Quick Summary
Phantom Forces is a team shooter that has been on Roblox for over a decade. The game's own description closes with "Thank you for continuing support for PF for over 10 years!", and the wiki marks the current game version as 11.17.0. It is made by StyLiS Studios, and the official page shows a verified group badge next to the name.
The pitch is loadout depth rather than a small arsenal. The description advertises "thousands of possible weapon loadouts", and the wiki's weapon pages are organised by class: assault rifles, carbines, personal defense weapons, light machine guns, designated marksman rifles, sniper rifles, battle rifles, shotguns, machine pistols, pistols and melee. Attachments sit on top of that, with irons, red dots, suppressors, grips, stocks and ammo types.
Two factions carry the whole game. The Phantoms are blue and the Ghosts are orange, each with static team-based spawn locations on every map. The wiki notes that a console message suggests the Phantoms are the Americans and the Ghosts are the Egyptians, which is the kind of detail players bring up when arguing about the game's setting.
What the Fall 2026 Update Changed
Version 11.17.0 is labelled the Fall Remodels Update. Four weapons are new, and eight older guns got visual remodels alongside a pass over weapon and attachment balance.
One small mismatch is worth flagging. The official game description lists the PDW remodel as "AR36", while the wiki change log lists it as AR36C at rank 7. Both pages agree on the AR36 assault rifle remodel at rank 25, so the official description appears to have shortened the PDW name.
The rest of the update is quality of life rather than content. Players can now rotate skins, several iron sight attachments were added or updated, new red dot sights arrived, other guns had colors and parts changed, and a batch of weapon and attachment rebalances shipped with it.
Movement and Combat Mechanics
Phantom Forces leans on a movement system that most Roblox shooters do not have, and the wiki has a whole page for it.
Ranks and Progression
Ranks are the progression system and there is no cap on them. Each promotion pays credits, and higher ranks pay more. Unlocking a new weapon happens less often the further you climb, because the experience requirement keeps rising.
The wiki gives the formulas. Experience needed to promote from a rank is that rank times 1,000, so a rank 15 player needs 16,000 XP. Total experience for a given rank is 1,000 times (rank squared plus rank, divided by two). Credit rewards are ((rank minus 1) times 5) plus 200 for ranks 1 to 21, and (rank times 5) plus 200 past rank 21.
Rank 0 starts you with a reasonable spread: AK-12 and VZ. 806 assault rifles, SMX-9K PDW, LSV M/04 and M249 SAW light machine guns, Intervention sniper rifle, M4A1 and C25 carbines, QBU-88 designated marksman rifle, M9 and G17 pistols, MAC-11 machine pistol and the knife. Credits are described on the gameplay page as an alternate route to unlocking items instead of hitting rank milestones, which matters once you are hunting one specific gun.
The Game Modes
Sixteen gamemodes are listed in the wiki, and they split into objective modes, hybrid modes and party modes. The timers and caps below are the ones the wiki prints.
Is Phantom Forces free to play?
Yes. The official Roblox page lists it as a free experience with a Mild maturity rating for repeated mild violence, and it does not require a game pass to join a server.
How much experience does it take to rank up?
The rank number times 1,000. A rank 15 player needs 16,000 XP to promote, and the requirement rises from there, which is why unlocks get rarer at higher ranks.
What are the new weapons in the Fall 2026 update?
Four: Regulator (DMR, rank 166), Spear LT (assault rifle, rank 167), Virtus (carbine, rank 168) and Rattler (PDW, rank 169). Cutlass is a new melee weapon that comes from a case unlock rather than a rank.
How do I unlock weapons?
Two ways. Most guns open up when you hit a rank, and the wiki lists the starting rank for each one. Credits are the alternate route, letting you buy a specific item instead of waiting for the milestone.
Can I change how my gun looks?
Yes, and the Fall 2026 update made it easier. Skin rotation was added in version 11.17.0, and several weapons received remodels in the same update, including the AR36 family, the PL8, the VZ. 806 variants and the M7 NGSW.
Which maps are in the game now?
The wiki's map page lists dozens, including Bazaar, Black Site, Castle Keep, Containers O' Fun, Crane Site, Dual Crane Site, Derrick, Desert Storm, Dunes, Dust Bowl, Elevation, Facility, Favela and Fortress. Paradise and Stardom arrived in the Spring 2026 update, and Trench was added as a compact map concept in the New Years 2026 update.
Sources
- Phantom Forces is StyLiS Studios' long-running Roblox FPS. The official page lists 1.8 billion plus visits, 5,991,534 favorites and 2,655 players active at the time of writing, on servers of 32.
- Two teams fight it out, the blue Phantoms and the orange Ghosts, on maps that run from desert towns to frozen wastelands. Bullet drop, muzzle velocity and external ballistics are scripted in, which sets it apart from most Roblox shooters.
- The Fall 2026 update, version 11.17.0, added four weapons (Regulator, Spear LT, Virtus and Rattler) plus a case-unlock melee called Cutlass, and remodelled eight older guns.
- Progression is rank based and has no cap. The experience needed to promote is the rank number times 1,000, so a rank 15 player needs 16,000 XP for the next rank.
- The wiki lists sixteen gamemodes, from Team Deathmatch to Infection, and each one has its own timer and score cap.

- Regulator, a new designated marksman rifle at rank 166.
- Spear LT, a new assault rifle at rank 167. The wiki's featured article for the version calls it an assault rifle that combines strong medium-range performance with a recoil pattern that needs precise control.

- Rattler, a new personal defense weapon at rank 169.
- Cutlass, a new melee weapon unlocked through a case rather than a rank.

Movement and Combat Mechanics
Phantom Forces leans on a movement system that most Roblox shooters do not have, and the wiki has a whole page for it.
- Vaulting. Press Space near a low wall to vault over it. Sprinting increases the range you can vault from, which lets you clear windows and low cover. You can crouch or go prone on landing if you hold the key near the end of the vault, and sliding into a vault gives a small speed boost afterwards.
- Slides. There are two. Tap C and let go of Shift shortly after for a straight slide you can rotate freely during, or hold Sprint to pick the slide direction. Tapping C just after releasing Shift gives an omnidirectional slide, including backwards, but you are locked to the slide path while it runs.
- Diving. Sprint and press X to launch yourself over cover while still able to fire. If you do not stand up you land prone and lose mobility until you do. Standing up mid-air by tapping and releasing the aim button lets you sprint again on landing.
- Super jumping. Jump and dive within a few frames for extra dive height, which reaches spots normal jumping cannot. Near some walls the game reads it as a vault instead, which can slam you into the wall.

The Game Modes
Sixteen gamemodes are listed in the wiki, and they split into objective modes, hybrid modes and party modes. The timers and caps below are the ones the wiki prints.
- Team Deathmatch. One point per kill, no way to lose points. 15 minutes or 200 kills.
- Flare Domination. Three flares (five on Containers O' Fun), each 15 studs in radius and starting neutral. A capture takes five seconds, dropping to three with three players on the point. 15 minutes or 250 points.
- King of the Hill. One central hill. Both teams start with 600 tickets and can only lose them. Holding the hill drains the enemy, at 5 points per 10 seconds with nobody on it, 10 with one player, 20 with two and 30 with three.
- Capture the Flag. Bring the enemy flag home while keeping your own. A carrier gets a 15 second grace period, then becomes visible through walls. 10 minutes or 5 flags. The capturing player gets 500 EXP and the team gets 250.
- Kill Confirmed. TDM where kills award nothing until you collect the dogtag. A kill is 50 points, collecting an enemy tag is 100, denying an ally's tag pays 75, and denying your own kill pays 50. 15 minutes or 150 dogtags.
- Hard Point. King of the Hill where the point relocates every minute. 15 minutes or 600 points.
- Tag Run. Collect tags from kills and carry them to a Recollection Point at a Flare Domination location. 25 XP per kill and tag pickup, 50 base XP per redeem, growing the more you bank at once.
- Infection, Swap, Duel, Stab and Brawl round out the list. Brawl was a Halloween 2023 party mode and has been permanently removed from the game.
- Play Team Deathmatch first. It is the simplest mode and the fastest way to learn the maps and the gun handling, and it pays out experience without the objective overhead.
- Pick one gun and stay on it. Attachments and recoil patterns are per weapon, and spreading yourself across the whole arsenal slows down the rank climb.
- Learn the slides and the vault before you worry about diving. Sliding into cover and vaulting windows are the two movement tools you will use in every single round.
- Check the server version before you judge a gun. The wiki notes that new and old versions sometimes run on different servers at the same time, and the version shows in the bottom right of the screen.
- Use votekick properly. You need to be rank 25 or above to start one, the vote runs for 40 seconds, and a votekick does not file a report with StyLiS Studios. Use the in-game report command for that.
