- Roblox Wallet begins rolling out in December 2026 to US-based independent creators aged 18 and over, paying earnings in USD automatically every business day.
- Wallet replaces the monthly DevEx request cycle in the United States, which Roblox plans to wind down by mid-2027.
- Roblox Card arrives in 2027 and lets creators spend their Wallet balance anywhere major card networks are accepted. It is not a credit card and has no line of credit.
- Per-transaction hold periods of up to 30 days still apply before funds clear, so daily payouts are daily for cleared earnings, not instant for every sale.
- Groups, incorporated businesses, and creators aged 13 to 17 with parental consent get support in 2027, alongside an international rollout with local currency payouts.
Roblox Wallet is a financial account that sits inside Creator Hub under a new Finances section. It is not a bank account. Roblox says payment services for US customers are provided by Airwallex US, LLC, a licensed money transmitter, and the company has been explicit that it is not becoming a bank.
The practical change is how you get paid. Under DevEx today you accumulate Earned Robux, submit a request, and wait through a monthly cooldown. With Wallet, cleared earnings are paid into your account automatically every business day in USD. There is no request to submit and no monthly cooldown.
Once a Wallet is open, future Creator Payments arrive as USD rather than Robux. Robux you already hold stays in your account and remains eligible for DevEx, so nothing is force-converted.
Who Gets In, and When
Access is opt-in and staggered. Here is the rollout Roblox published.
| Stage | Who gets it | What changes |
| December 2026 | US-based independent creators (sole proprietors), 18 and over | Daily USD payouts, transaction analytics, Robux repurchase at the DevEx rate |
| 2027 | Groups, incorporated businesses, creators 13 to 17 with parental consent | Wallet support expands beyond sole proprietors |
| 2027 | International regions | Opt-in local currency payouts, subject to regional availability |
| 2027 | Select markets | Roblox Card rollout begins |
| Mid-2027 | United States | DevEx winds down once Wallet is fully rolled out in the region |
How the Money Moves
Three mechanics matter here.
- Hold periods. Earnings are subject to a hold period of up to 30 days that can vary by transaction. Only after a transaction clears does it count as available.
- Daily settlement. Cleared earnings are paid automatically every business day. The Transactions page in Creator Hub shows the daily payout total alongside every individual sale that fed it, including the Robux breakdown.
- Transfers out. You can move funds to your bank account on your own schedule. Roblox says transfer methods and timing options vary, with low fees or minimums.

The analytics side is a genuine upgrade over DevEx. You get transaction logs you can filter, sort, and export directly into accounting workflows, per-purchase records with buyer details for player support, and status tracking on each transaction. Tax documentation for Wallet appears on the central tax pages in Creator Hub alongside existing documents.
The DevEx Rate and Buying Power
Wallet does not change the exchange rate. You earn at the same DevEx rates as today. What changes is the round trip.
Creators with a Wallet can repurchase Robux at the DevEx rate of $0.0038 per Robux. The examples Roblox gives are 10,000 Robux for $38 and 30,000 Robux for $114, plus tax where applicable. That matters because creators spend Robux on refundable platform fees such as marketplace publishing, and now also on ads directly from Wallet funds in addition to existing payment methods.
Without this, a creator who cashed out and then needed Robux for publishing would have to buy back in at the retail rate and lose value on the spread. Roblox is deliberately closing that gap.
Roblox Card
Roblox Card is the part that gets the most attention and the least detail so far. It is a card connected to your Wallet, rolling out in 2027 in select markets. You spend only what is available in your Wallet balance, anywhere major card networks are accepted, and you can add it to a digital wallet on your phone to tap and pay.
Roblox states plainly that it is not a credit card. There is no line of credit and no loan.
What Changes for Groups and Younger Creators
Until group-owned wallets land in 2027, groups keep earning in Robux and can keep paying out Robux to collaborators, whether as recurring revenue splits or one-time payouts. If a collaborator has a Wallet, they receive USD at the correct rate. Otherwise they keep receiving Robux as they do today.
For creators under 18, nothing opens in December. Support for creators aged 13 to 17 arrives in 2027 and requires parental consent.
Compliance and Tax Caveats Worth Reading Twice
Two things in the announcement are easy to skim past and worth slowing down on.
First, moderation. If your account is moderated, funds already in your Wallet stay accessible and you get instructions by email and in the suspension notice. But your account must be in good standing to keep earning, and violations can mean a suspension from earning, longer holds on pending earnings, or in some cases forfeiture. A permanent ban can lead to the Wallet being closed, though Roblox says you get the chance to move funds out first.
Second, taxes. Roblox says it cannot provide formal tax advice, but funds paid into your Wallet generally constitute earned income and are considered realized once transferred into the account. That is a meaningful distinction from holding Robux, and creators who manage cash-out timing for tax reasons should talk to a professional rather than rely on forum advice.
For scale context, Roblox reported that creators earned over $1.5 billion in 2025, up from $923 million in 2024, and that more than $1.7 billion went out through DevEx in the twelve months to June 2026. The company has paid out more than $5 billion through DevEx since it launched in 2013. Over 42,000 creators are in the DevEx program, with the median creator receiving roughly $1,500 USD in the twelve months ended June 30, 2026. Roblox also says its top 1,000 creators averaged $1.3 million in 2025.
FAQ
Is Roblox Wallet available outside the US?
Not at launch. The December 2026 rollout is US-only, and international regions with opt-in local currency payouts come in 2027. DevEx stays available longer outside the US.
Do I have to open a Wallet?
No. Wallet is opt-in. Your earnings stay in Robux unless you apply and are approved. Once you open one, future payments arrive in USD instead of Robux.
Will my existing Robux be converted to USD automatically?
No. Robux you already earned stays in your account and remains eligible for DevEx. Only future Creator Payments after you open a Wallet are paid in USD.
Is Roblox Card a credit card?
No. It is connected to your Wallet and you can only spend your available balance. There is no line of credit or loan.
Does Wallet pay out instantly?
No. Each transaction has a hold period of up to 30 days that can vary. Once cleared, the funds are paid automatically every business day.
What happens to my Wallet if I get banned?
Funds already in your Wallet remain available to you. Roblox may close the Wallet if you are permanently banned, and you are given the opportunity to move funds out to an external account first.
