- Steal a Brainrot has 15 mutations right now, from 1x Default up to Eclipse at 14x. Three of them, Gold, Diamond and Rainbow, spawn on the Red Carpet on their own. Everything else needs an event.
- Only one mutation can sit on a brainrot, and the next one replaces the old one. Traits are different: they stack, and they add to the multiplier instead of multiplying it.
- The working formula is base income times (mutation multiplier plus the trait bonuses). A 7.5x Yin Yang brainrot holding Galactic (+3x) and Fireworks (+5x) earns 15.5x its base income.
- Completing a mutation index adds 0.5x to your cash multiplier, and that bonus applies to your whole income rather than to one brainrot.
- Eclipse arrived with Update 69 on October 3, 2026, and it replaced the Craft Machine with the Haunted Fuse. Two value guides disagree on its exact multiplier, so treat the in-game index page as the source of truth.
A mutation changes two things at once: the look of the brainrot and the multiplier applied to its income. The multiplier scales whatever that brainrot already earns per second, so the same 10x Rainbow is worth far more on a mid tier brainrot than on a Common one.
Only one mutation can sit on a brainrot at a time. If a brainrot already carries Diamond and then gets hit by an effect that would grant Galaxy, the new one replaces the old one. Traits do not behave that way. Traits stack with each other and with the mutation, which is the whole reason a mutated brainrot can still be improved later.
Eclipse is a good example of the visual half. The brainrot turns black, with parts like the eyes and legs in yellow and a bright sun above it.

- Rainbow: 10x, always available
- Divine: 10x, special event or admin spawn
- Cyber: 11x, CYBER UPDATE

Where each one comes from
Gold, Diamond and Rainbow spawn naturally on the Red Carpet. Eldorado puts the Red Carpet chances at 10% for Gold, 20.4% for Diamond and 1% for Rainbow. A 1% Rainbow is the reason a lot of players farm a private server rather than a busy public one, and it is why Diamond brainrots are cheap compared to Gold.
The rest arrive with an event or an admin spawn. steal-a-brainrot.org describes the space event running hourly at weekends and every three hours on weekdays for Galaxy, and the same schedule for Cyber under the CYBER UPDATE. Eclipse runs on a similar clock: hourly at weekends and every two hours on weekdays, according to StealABrainrotHelper.
That schedule is what decides whether you chase an event mutation or settle for Rainbow. An event that only runs every two hours on a weekday is not worth a whole evening of your time if you already hold a Rainbow.
How the income maths works
Eldorado prints the formula as:
Code: Select all
base income x (mutation multiplier + (trait bonus #1 - 1) + (trait bonus #2 - 1) + ...) = final incomeCode: Select all
total multiplier = mutation multiplier + the sum of the trait income bonusesThe wiki's worked examples make the add-up obvious. Gold (1.25x) with the Taco trait (+2x) gives 3.25x total. Lava (6x) with Galactic (+3x) and Fireworks (+5x) gives 14x total. Both of those examples are worth more than the mutation list alone would suggest.
- Open the index page and read the base income of the brainrot you are about to mutate. That is the number the multiplier scales.
- Note the mutation it already carries. The next one replaces it, so only swap upward.
- Add the trait bonuses it already has. That sum is your real multiplier today.
- Compare that against the same brainrot at a higher mutation tier before you spend an evening farming a trait.
- Re-check after any update. Update 69 on October 3, 2026 is what pushed Eclipse to the top of the list.
Every regular mutation has its own index page. Completing one adds 0.5x to your cash multiplier. Eldorado puts the requirement at 50% to 75% of that mutation's brainrots, with a base skin on top, and its example screenshot is the Crystal base skin unlocked at 50% Crystal brainrots. Update 69 added the Eclipse index and an Eclipse base skin on the same system.
That index bonus is separate from the mutation multiplier and it applies to your whole income instead of to one brainrot. It is the slower payoff, and it is the part that keeps climbing after you stop chasing event mutations.
The numbers worth arguing about
Eclipse is the top slot, and it is disputed. StealABrainrotHelper and Eldorado both put it at 14x. U7Buy, writing the same update up as a log entry, says about 13.5x to 14x. Two sources say one thing, the third hedges. Since the mutation is new, the honest answer is that the exact figure is still settling, and the in-game index page is the only place that cannot be out of date.
Galaxy is contested the same way. Eldorado and BloxUltra both say 7x. steal-a-brainrot.org says 6x. Both sides list it as an event mutation from the space event. A 1x gap matters on a high tier brainrot, so until one of them moves, use what the game displays.
Celestial is where the two value guides diverge hardest. BloxUltra lists Celestial at 14x, which would make it the strongest mutation in the game. steal-a-brainrot.org lists it at 4x, below Lava. Eldorado does not list it at all. That is a 10x gap on one entry, so treat Celestial as unconfirmed until you see it on the index page yourself.
Divine is the one mutation that brings its own trait. Eldorado notes Divine as the only mutation that can hand out the Halo trait, which puts it above a plain Rainbow even though both are listed at 10x.
Trading and mutation value
Mutations move trading value. Eldorado's value guide is built from live marketplace listings, and it says rarity of mutation is one of the things that pushes a price up, alongside traits. A mutated brainrot is not just a better earner, it is a better trade asset, and the same mutation on a low tier brainrot may not clear the same price at all.
Eldorado's advice on avoiding a bad trade is boring and correct: skip rushed deals, treat pressure as a warning sign, distrust blurry screenshots, and prefer transparent listings over private messages.
FAQ
How many mutations are in Steal a Brainrot?
Eldorado counts 15, BloxUltra counts 16 and steal-a-brainrot.org lists 14. The count moves with whichever update you are reading, so treat any list as a snapshot rather than a fixed number.
What is the best mutation in Steal a Brainrot?
Eclipse, at 14x according to Eldorado and StealABrainrotHelper. U7Buy says about 13.5x to 14x. If you cannot catch the event, Rainbow at 10x is the best permanent one, and Divine at 10x beats it because it can carry the Halo trait.
What is the best regular mutation in Steal a Brainrot?
Rainbow at 10x. It spawns on the Red Carpet at roughly 1% according to Eldorado, so it is slow to farm and it is why players run private servers.
Can a brainrot have two mutations?
No. One mutation per brainrot, and the new one replaces the old one. Traits stack separately, and as many as the brainrot has earned can sit on it at once.
Do mutations affect trading value?
Yes. Eldorado states that rarer mutations can multiply a brainrot's value, and its own value table is sorted with the rarest mutations near the top.
Does a mutation multiply my whole income?
No. A mutation scales the income of the brainrot carrying it. The mutation index bonus is the part that applies more broadly, adding 0.5x to your cash multiplier per completed index.
Is Celestial 4x or 14x?
steal-a-brainrot.org says 4x, BloxUltra says 14x and Eldorado does not list it. Check the index page in game before you trade for it.
